Choosing the perfect block of land in Townsville

The block of land that your new home is built on, is just as important as your new home design.  It will have a significant impact on your lifestyle.  It will also have an impact on the style and size of home you can build.

Here are our top tips to consider, when deciding where you will build your new home.

Key Considerations for choosing your Townsville Land:

  • Block Size and Frontage – this is critical to the final size of your home, width of your home and remaining usable land (for you shed, pool or kids general play area)
  • Orientation – Sun position (morning/afternoon) & prevailing breezes (summer breeze/winter breeze)
  • Land Elevation and/or Fall – elevated blocks or blocks with significant slope often require extra earthworks, which can quickly add up!
  • Soil Type & Environment (such as cyclone rating, bush fire ratings, acoustic requirements)
  • Facilities/ Amenities and services available in the area

There are many other key questions you need to ask yourself when choosing the perfect block for you and your family including:

Employment & Schools
Is the land close to where you work, or have you considered the daily drive time to get to and from work?

Are you Defence (ADF) personnel? Do you work at the Townsville Hospital or James Cook University? Do you work in the Townsville CBD?
