First Home Buyers boost economy by almost $7m.

Building a new home is a rewarding milestone and a highly valued achievement that one can experience in their lifetime.  Recently voted as Townsville’s top builder, Jazz Homes has set the benchmark for building a new home in Townsville for almost three decades.

As the end of financial year approaches, there is much talk in the real estate and building industry around the QLD State Government’s First Home Owners Grant.

Currently, first home buyers may be eligible to receive up to $20,000 towards their first home purchase.  The Townsville Bulletin recently reported that the First Home Owners Grant has been claimed for 343 new properties in the Townsville region, from the start of the financial year until March 31st 2018.  The value of Townsville grants in the last financial year equates to approximately $6.83 million to our local economy.

After June 30, the grant will revert back to it’s original amount of $15,000.  If you have been considering building your first home in Townsville – now is the time, contracts signed before June 30 will still be eligible to receive the full $20,000.  The State Treasurer is expected to announce a decision on the grant on July 1st, 2018.
