WHAT’S NEW TO NORTH SHORE TOWNSVILLE IN 2017?

If you are thinking about living in North Shore and what this up and coming Townsville suburb has to offer, here is a little of what is coming in 2017…exciting times ahead!!! :-

• Completion of The Clubhouse (which will be handed to Council in January 2017). Lots of sporting groups will take advantage of this complex in the form of community groups, AFL and night time events. This is a real opportunity to further embed pride in the community. A cracking space to hold community events, social functions and even footy nights.
• The $40m North Shore State School is off the ground! This also comes with a further $15m investment by Stockland to deliver road networks that will connect North Shore Boulevard. This will start in January. Residents will be able to get to North Shore Boulevard quicker! The park and footpath network will all connect and there will be around 16km of footpath when its completed. The school itself is going to be a state of the art school focusing on Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths, with a really unique design.
• Townsville Grammar Junior Campus – will open its doors in January 2017. The school will be ultra modern.  For example, when classrooms drop below 23 degrees the air con turns off and the louvres automatically open. Each light is sensor adjusted so the classroom compensate for more sunlight on one side of the room so the whole room stays the same lux level.  Just some of the exciting modern conveniences of a new school in 2017.
• The ancillary developments in the Town Centre (Medical Centre Stage 2, ArcCare nursing home, Presbyterian Church underway. Creating around 125 full time jobs when these all open in mid-2017.
• Shopping Centre expansion – Watch this space…its been kept a secret!!!
• Tavern –  There are still plans in the pipeline in the near future, hopefully over the course of 2017 we will see that start and what seems like maybe a restaurant or two.
• What else is new in 2017?  There has been a covenant review for Stockland North Shore.  In 2017, the next stage of Central Park will be revisited with a unique design that will attract visitors from everywhere! There will also be a new Stockland Display Village with some really exciting inclusions that haven’t been done before and will be somewhat next-generational!
